Watch the World Cup in 2026, live with Hungry Horse

The World Cup is kicking off across North America this summer, but if the pitch feels too far, head to a sports pub instead.

At Hungry Horse, we’ve got big screens showing the big matches, as well as a delicious pub food menu and fully-stocked bars to help tackle your cravings. Our pubs and live football really are the perfect match.

When is the World Cup in 2026, and who is hosting?

This year’s tournament is history in the making, as it’s the first time a World Cup tournament will be set across three countries, with Mexico, USA and Canada all playing host. The first game is scheduled for June 11th in Mexico City and the final is set for July 19th in New Jersey.

A whopping 48 teams are taking part and it is set to run over 39 days with 104 matches, making it the longest and biggest tournament yet.

Are England a favourite to win?

England may have suffered almost 60 years of hurt since their 1966 win against West Germany, but they have shown their ability in recent tournaments.

They managed to make it to the Quarter Finals in 2022 and the Semi Finals in 2018, as well as the Final of the 2024 Euros.

So while this year’s event has many more teams playing, England are certainly strong contenders!

Why Hungry Horse has the perfect sports pubs for the World Cup in 2026

From freezing from the stands clutching a cold cup of Bovril to struggling to see from the seats way up high, the stadium doesn’t always offer the best atmosphere.

At a Hungry Horse sports pub, you can always get a clear view of the screens, whether you’re sitting down tucking into a tasty plate or by the bar ordering a round in.

There’s no better way to experience a game than surrounded by your fellow fans. Commiserate the losses, cheer on the unexpected wins and suffer through the nail-biting tension that is penalties. If England come out on top, you can gather the crowd together and rejoice in a rendition of Three Lions.

We’ve got a tasty food menu to please any preference, from small bites to full-on feasts and sweet indulgences. With the matches happening across the globe, kick-off may coincide with a spot of breakfast or even a bit of lunch. Whenever the match time, we’ve got a meal waiting.

Thirsty? Get the drinks in! Grab a frosty pint from the bar, sip on a crisp glass of wine or get the cocktails in. While the Lions dominate the pitch, you can enjoy a pitcher!

Plus, if the sun is shining, enjoy the warmth in one of our beer gardens. With plenty of our pubs equipped with outdoor screens, you can enjoy a spot of al fresco footie!

Our friendly staff are always on hand to make your stay brilliant, and we like to make everyone feel welcome from their first foot inside to their final goodbye.

Even if football doesn’t come home, at least you’ll feel like you have at a Hungry Horse pub.

Make it a family affair

Whether you’re a family of footie fans or you need to take care of the kids during kickoff, Hungry Horse is the perfect sports pub for all ages. If little ones aren’t bothered by the match, we’ve got plenty of pubs with outdoor play areas, as well as our Wacky Warehouse soft play areas.
